The “Oh, I’m Not Kinky!” Project is a program of the Handball Academy designed to explore the sexuality of individuals who, while engaged in forms of sexual expression which are generally associated with bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism, kink and leather, do not identify as “kinky.”
The purpose of the “Oh, I’m Not Kinky!” Project (the OINK! Project) is to explore how and why these non-kinksters identify as they do: how they identify themselves, how they identify their sex; the kinds of sexual practices in which they engage, how they identify and find others like them.
OINK! will work to establish a lexicon to assist in understanding how non-kinksters define and talk about themselves and what they do sexually.
OINK! will also explore their views on and feelings about kink in general, of the overall kink community, on their sense of inclusiveness, or whether there is a desire to be included in the larger community.
OINK! will examine whether there is, or should be, an alternative community, or whether there is a desire for one, what are their needs within a larger community, as well as how the greater kink community can incorporate non-kinksters into the broader community.
